Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 17 August 2026

The Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms (DPAR), Government of Nagaland, is committed to ensuring that the Personal Information Management System (PIMS 2.0) website is accessible to the widest possible audience, including persons with disabilities, regardless of the technology or ability they use to browse the web.

Conformance status

This website is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and follows the Government of India Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) on accessibility. It aims to use valid, standards-compliant HTML5 and CSS3 as defined by W3C.

This is a target level of conformance, not a certified guarantee. Some pages or third-party embedded components may not yet fully meet every success criterion; see "Known limitations" below.

Accessibility features on this website

  • Skip to main content link, available from every page, to bypass repeated header content.
  • Adjustable text size (A− / A / A+) in the top utility bar, for readers who need larger text.
  • High-contrast mode, available from the top utility bar, for readers with low vision or light sensitivity.
  • Consistent, logical heading structure and landmark regions to support screen-reader navigation.
  • Descriptive alternative text for informative images; purely decorative images and icons are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators on all interactive controls.
  • Status messages, such as search results and loading states, announced automatically to screen-reader users.
  • A responsive layout that supports browser zoom and reflows for smaller screens without loss of content or functionality.

Compatibility

This website is built to be compatible with recent versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge) and with commonly used screen readers such as NVDA and VoiceOver. It does not depend on JavaScript alone for critical navigation, and all interactive controls are operable using a keyboard.

Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some parts of this website may not yet be fully accessible:

  • Authenticated, role-specific modules (used internally by department staff) have not undergone the same level of accessibility review as the public-facing pages.
  • Some third-party integrations, such as document viewers or payment gateways, are outside our direct control and may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA.
  • PDF documents linked from this website may not all be fully tagged for screen-reader compatibility.

We are working to address these limitations and welcome feedback that helps us prioritize fixes.

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please let us know:

Please try to include the web address (URL) of the page, a description of the issue, and the browser or assistive technology you were using, so that we can investigate effectively.
